My Web Design Process
So you want a professional looking website, but don't know where to start? You have an idea of what your website should be but don't know how to get there?
I am an industry certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and will walk you through a structured path to creating your website while allowing ultimate flexibility, creative input and an iterative, agile approach to the work involved.
CONSULT
Once you initially reach out, we will set up a consultation. This may be an in person meeting, over Zoom, or a simple phone call. Here we will have a discussion about what your needs are, so that I can get a good sense of what your after with your new website. You will leave with a better understanding of how I can help you, pricing details, what your involvement in the project would be, a timeline, and what the website design and build process looks like.
BOOKING
A deposit is required to reserve your spot in my schedule. When the reservation is confirmed, I will put in writing our goals and objectives, a proposed timeline, cost details and roles/responsibilities for the project into a proposal. Also discussed will be ongoing website maintenance, hosting specifics, and training if required. Once this is agreed to, work can begin.
PLANNING AND HOMEWORK
As we work to plan our website project there will be some homework for you to complete. This may include things like providing photography and images, logos, reserving a domain name, some key points for any web content, FAQs, etc. This will be incorporated into the project plan to ensure everything is timed out properly and there are no delays in the work.
DESIGN
During the design phase I will create the structure of your website, incorporating any existing branding features, photography, and new ideas into the design of the site. Once a main design and pages are in place, you be sent a link to the site and we can begin prototyping the site until complete. Any adjustments to the schedule, or changes to the scope of the project will be mutually agreed to and adjustments to the plan and timeline can be made accordingly.
WEBSITE LAUNCH
Once the site is complete and final payments are made, I will launch your site. If we had agreed to training to make your own updates to your website, we will have a follow-up training call which can be recorded via Zoom and provided back to you. Now you're all set!
